7AS and 11AS Season Procedures "Test"
Do you know the procedures for the 7AS and 11AS Season?

If you are officiating in the 7AS and 11AS Seasons you must complete the "test" below and submit the test for "grading" before requesting your first assignment.

These procedures were described at the Referee Meeting on August 17th; they are in addition to the standard procedures; the referees who attended the meeting have been asked to "correct" the referees who did not attend the meeting and do not properly administer the procedures - please cooperatively follow their advice and comments!

If you do not score 100% on the test, you should review the Referee Advisory, 7AS and 11AS Season Guidelines and the information from the referee meeting.

You will see the answers to the test after you submit the test.

The Board expects all referees with OL assignments to follow these procedures in order to have consistent administration of the procedures for all the OL 7AS and 11AS Season games!

Take the test and submit it now!!

  1) Coaches, ADOCs and DOCs must have and wear two passes on a lanyard around their neck at all times during the game. Any coach with a pass may sign the game card and be the coach of record for the game. The photograph must match the coach! (hint: the guideline was changed on 8/29/07)!

2) Only players pre-printed on the 7AS game card may participate in the game; no write-ins are allowed. The coach will write-in players for the 11AS game card (i.e., "club pass).
  3) Referees are to follow the "no pass, no game card, no play" rule at all times for 7AS and 11AS.
  4) The "On-line Game Report" is to be to be submitted immediately after a Sunday assignment. The formal written paper Game Card is to be mailed to the OL to arrive by Tuesday.
  5) Referees are to check the "Announcements" and "Game Status" links and their email before going to their assignments.

6) The on-line "Send Off Report" must be completed and sent to the Assignor immediately after the game; each item in the report must be completed. The player pass must be included.

  7) After the game the referee must verbally confirm with the coach who received a send-off and what the transgression was that warranted the send-off.
  8) Referees will function as a three-referee team entering and exiting the field together and locate themselves away from spectators, coaches and players near the corner flag on the team side of the field (or some other remote location, i.e., under the trees at Waiau). Referees will not place their gear bags between the teams.

9) Referees are to apply the following procedure for spectator abuse: 1) when there are abusive spectators, the coach will receive a first courtesy warning from the referee; 2) the coach will address the situation; 3) if the abuse continues the referee will issue a yellow card to the coach and indicate the occurrence on the game report and card (note that the coach must first receive the courtesy warning); the team and/or club will then receive an email from the Discipline Committee requesting them to modify their behavior and a record will be entered in the "Spectator Database"; 4) if a team receives three entries, they will appear before the Board for a hearing and discipline decision.

  10) Referees must report abuse from coaches and/or spectators on the "On-line Game Report" and the paper "Game Card" if the League is to support referees in combating abuse. There are to be no"courtesy YCs" issued or noted on the game reports or cards.
  11) The wepage listing of assignments are the official record from which payments are made; if there are errors of any kind, the referee must contact the Assignor immediately to correct the error; referees may review the payment amounts they are to be paid by requesting a password to access their assignment records. The processing dates are listed on the webpage.
  12) Referees who do not administer League policies, procedures and guidelines properly and completely will not receive payment or a reduced payment for their assignments. I have read and will follow the policies, procedures and guidelines as stated in the Referee Advisory, Seasonal guidelines and referee meeting materials.
