Les Gusman
is again sponsoring the "U8-10 Hawaii
Spring League" (HSL) for Girls and Boys U8-10 teams from April 4, 2010, to May 23, 2010, at Waipio Soccer Park. The
games are at the "developmental" level
and require one certified referee to officiate the game; there
are no ARs and there is no offsides for the U8 and U9 games. For the U10 games, referees should call the obvious offsides but since there are no ARs the close offsides cannot be called. Each
match will consist of two 20 minute halves with a 5 minute
half-time for the U8s and two 25 minute halves with a 5 minute
half for the U9s and U10s. Referees will be paid $30.00 by check
by mail after receipt of the game card (remember to write your
address where you want the payment sent to on the game card!). Payments for games will be made at two intervals - after the third week and after the sixth week of games.
|
All
standard procedures detailed in the Referee Advisory and Seasonal
Guidelines and the application of HYSA rules apply in the
officiating of the matches.
|
These games
are open to requests by all referees but
they are ideally suited for the youth or new adult referee who
wants to gain experience as a center in a low intensity officiating
environment at the U8-10
level!
|
Referees
may request assignments to these games by following the standard
procedures used to indicate availability for regular Oahu
League games, that is, by submitting an email request and then
confirming receipt of the assigning email. If you
want to request HSL matches go the Oahu League Referee Page and
click on the link titled "U8-10
Spring League" in the left frame under "Links". Request
your assignment by the game number following
the normal request procedures.
|
Again, this
is an opportunity for you to gain experience as a center referee
in a less intense officiating environment than you would experience
in the competitive U8-10 season. Please take advantage
of this opportunity to support the U8-10 Hawaii Spring League
and to also improve your skills as a referee and to ready yourself
to be a center during the next competitive U8-10 and U12 season!

Procedural
Notes: .... after the
match, complete the game cards you received from the
coaches; then go to the "HSL referee drop
box" at the field and insert
the game cards into the drop box; misconducts are to be noted
on the game card; there will also
be "Send Off" report
forms in the box to complete and submit if needed (do not mail
anything to the Oahu League; the game cards and
send off reports go into the referee drop box for the
U8-10 HSL Coordinator to pick-up) ....
