Oahu League & NCSA Partner

June 11, 2020 03:55 AM

OL & NCSA partner to grow access to collegiate recruiting services assisting our families in one of the most difficult periods.

HONOLULU, Hawai’i- Speaking with many families, coaches, and DOC’s, an area that was heavily discussed was College Showcasing and getting our Oahu League student-athletes access to College Scouts. Working with families in identifying schools in both the mainland and Hawaii is quite daunting for coaches and players. After all, we want our Oahu League student-athletes to receive opportunities for higher education and become great citizens.

Addressing the scouting issues affecting OL clubs and their families, the league has partnered with a recruiting giant, Next College Student Athlete (https://www.ncsasports.org/). NCSA has been named the Official Preferred Provider of Recruiting Services for the Oahu League. The Oahu League players will receive discounts on the services provided with this partnership. In the past two years, NCSA has worked with many Oahu League players to assist them and their families in guiding them through the recruiting process.

“This formalizes the arrangement and gives our clubs, coaches, players, and families a reputable resource to utilize. We feel it is important, especially now for the players in the 2021/2022 Grad Years who are missing out on College Showcasing Tournaments, to get that extra help in identifying college programs. Assisting them in achieving their life goals and hopefully allow them to play soccer at the highest levels is something that is extremely important to our member organizations.” Mr. Keem continues “Saving our families time and money was paramount in choosing NCSA as a partner. In Mr. Chris Keeney and NCSA, we have partnered with someone whose personal touch along with the resources of NCSA will deliver outstanding results for our Oahu League Student Athletes.”

Chris Keeney was soccer athlete for much of his youth but decided to run track at Florida State University while at Punahou. He earned a business degree and then, pursued an MBA from George Mason University. Chris' professional sports career started with D.C. United of Major League Soccer in 1996 and included roles with Real Salt Lake and the Columbus Crew over a twenty-five-year career. He joined NCSA in July 2015, after his daughter successfully used NCSA for her collegiate soccer ambitions. In addition, Chris owns A3 Sports Consulting, which has a client base that includes the Pacific Rim Cup, a pre-season soccer event held at Aloha Stadium.
